Ladies, I'd like some help with men's shoes?

So I'm kind of tired wearing my Timberlands all the time, and I've read/heard about girls always noticing a guy's shoes and I'd like some help. I'm not sure which shoes would be good for going out or for casual every-day. I usually wear nice jeans out to bar/when I go out and sometimes khakis. I was thinking of the following:

(the gray/black ones)

http://www.skechers.com/catalog/browse.d...

(brown ones)

(brown ones)

http://www.timberland.com/product/index....

Ladies, I'd like some help with men's shoes?
I like the first two pairs. The first pair you could wear with jeans

and maybe the second pair with Khaki pants

Either one would be good for every day(in my opinion.)

You might also look around at department stores like Dillard's,

Macy's or Nordstom's if they are in your city.

Maybe the Bass shoe website also.

Good luck shoe shopping!
Reply:I do not like the first or last ones, but the two brown skechers are nice.
Reply:Sketcher's advertising = first thing a woman notices is a man's shoes.... They got you good :P

Shoes in Rome?

My boyfriend and I are going to Rome in a week. We will be backpacking. As a result, we will not be able to carry a lot of items with us.

What shoes should I bring? I have a pair of black ankle boots, a pair of tan moccasins by Timberland, and a pair of hiking boots that are black and tan. The hiking boots have the best soles. But are they took casual? I wear a lot of flare leg pants, so my shoes aren't seen as much as on others.

Shoes in Rome?
Just take the shoes which will fit your program. If you plan to walk all over Rome (and you should) then take the most comfortable ones.

Better to be comfortable than to see Rome with blisters on your heels and toes. Today people travel with all sorts of clothing, there is no set style anymore especially with the young .Go have fun and put a penny in the Fountain of Trevi for me so that perhaps I may go back again one day.
Reply:just take the shoes u want to take does it really matter!
Reply:If you are going to be walking a lot tennis shoes are a must.. who cares what it looks like as long as you are comfortable. The walkways in Rome are cobblestone and very hard to walk on especially in heels.

Which shoes and handbags should I choose?

My office is business casual, but I would like to start dressing up more (those one step or more above me tend to wear suits except on casual Friday - jeans!). I own four suits - black, medium gray, dark navy pinstripe, and a dark plumish/brown. They are decent suits (Anne Klein and Calvin Klein), but I do not have proper shoes or handbags to go with them. I only own black dress shoes, but they are older and not good quality and I usually wear casual (Timbuk2) messenger bags. I don't even own a belt! I would like to invest in two pairs of high quality shoes, one or two good handbags, and a couple quality belts. What colors and styles would work best with my current suits? My suit pants are all long and I would like to have them hemmed to be able to wear heels less than two inches high. I work for a university and often walk from building to building and do not want to walk in high heels or have my pants dragging on the ground if I change shoes. Thanks for your help!

Which shoes and handbags should I choose?
u can never go wrong with high end brands specially louis vuitton an d channel coz they will last you forever i got an lv bag the i've been using for the past 6 years and still looks new. it ages really well and goes with every colour i wear and very durable.

finally a belt

a simple belt like this can complete any look

also if you are not willing to pay these high prices TJMaxx sells coach too
Reply:Stay calm! It sounds like you're freaking out. You should get black high heels. Your legs will look sexy and they are perfect for every occasion. To really improve your closet I would NOT get rid of the black dresses but buy some additional ones. More colorful. For example. Try a red dress, black shoes, hair color does not matter, and , maybe (optional) a black belt around your waist. It will look great! For more thanjust work, maybe a business meeting, stick with your suits and black dresses, BUT give the outfit a little extra with accesoirs. Colorful!!! If you want to have the attention, u need accesoirs. Nothing to extravagant, just light colors. For the summer you can stick with real bright colors. Yellow, Pink, White, Light Blue etc... For the winter more romantic colors wine red with brown etc...

I hope this answer will help you.

Advice on shoes..........?

omg i'm so mad my mom i got me the cutest shoes that i have wanting to get they are green wedges if anyone knows what they are.but anyways i wanted to wear them to school.but my mother got mad and said you arent aloud to wear them to school because u can only wear them as going out shoes.they aren't dressy at all their very laid back and casual.and on top of that i'm only wearing these shoes to my sisters baby shower and thats it!so i was thinking to wear them to school. like wear shoes to school and then when i get their i can change into the new wedges that i got.the ones i'm talking about are on the homepage of payless,they are the green ones next to the pink ones.what do u think i should do?

Advice on shoes..........?
i shouldn;t tell youm what to do. just don't feel guilty doiung it. their adorable just wear em.they are sso cute. you should change in the bathroom when you get there shoes like that don't need to be sittn in the closet. you have to do what yuo have to do. make a good desicion(im sure you wiull) have fun and don't get caught
Reply:It's weird that your mom said that haha

I love them!! they're adorable!!

Just try to get her to let you like create a adorable outfit to go with them and the night before you want to wear it, show her how cute it looks!! But really you need to ask her what the heck is "going out shoes"?! I mena if you buy shoes you want to wear them whenever appropiate!! Now if your school has a dress code I would understand but just general that's stupid but I kinda know how you feel sometimes lol but just try my advice, it might work but whatever you do, good luck!! Those shoes are too cute to just put away in the closet!!!
Reply:Do what everyone else does. Put them in your gym bag, wear another pair to school and change them once you're out

Be careful not to ruin them or she'll know for sure!!!

What color shoes should I wear with a chocolate brown bridesmaid dress?

It's a casual wedding, and I got to pick my dress, and shoes. I think black will look wierd and am leaning toward red.

What color shoes should I wear with a chocolate brown bridesmaid dress?
Black would definitely clash with brown. I would go with either something lighter like a beige/tan shoe. Pink goes great with Brown, so does aqya, but not sure about those colors in a shoe. Red might go depending on the color of red it is. What are the other bridesmaids wearing for colors?
Reply:med to hot pink, maybe a cream or the clear kind.
Reply:without seeing the dress, I personally think black would work. What material is the dress, what month is the wedding?
Reply:Ya i think red will be good or like a dark purpilish
Reply:You can't go wrong with a neutral shoe - camel or tan.

I was in a wedding wearing a flowy sage green dress and all the bridesmaids bought the same neutral strappy slides - they were expensive and I was p.o.'d when I bought them. Now they are my absolute favorite shoes, and I'd buy ten more pairs if I could ever find them again.

Red would look cool too, but if other bridesmaids aren't wearing the red it may look out of place.

Good Luck!
Reply:I was thinking red because it gives you splash of color to not make you look boring.
Reply:Definately go with a neutral, something close to skin color is best. You will get TONS of use out of them later and a neutral is always the best way to get a longer, leggier look. That will be great later when you use them with your regular length dresses and such.
Reply:red would be a very nice color. Maybe try a pink or a purple. Good Luck
Reply:badge, maybe white..
Reply:Go with a nice shade of pink. You don't want people staring at your feet, so avoid bright, loud shades.
Reply:try, off-white just to have contrast to the dark brown color
Reply:If you can wear open-toed or sandal-type, white or silver (even a gold sandal) would work and wear silver (or gold) jewelry. If they have to be close-toed, ask what the other bridesmaids are wearing, you don't all want to clash. But a light (crema or beige) or pink would work. A turquoise color, baby blue even, always looks nice with that deep brown, too. And to offset the brown of the dress and the shoes not being easy to match, make your accessories compliment each other.
Reply:You could have your shoes dyed to match the gown
Reply:FORSTLY EWWWWW! chocolate brown braidsmaids dress. how... EW! i would think pink/brown go well together
Reply:Red's ok. It depends on your accessories, though. You could also go with tan leather or espadrilles.
Reply:navy or match the brown- red is too showy for the bridesmaid to wear- it could upstage the bride.
Reply:Definitely NOT red! Go with a clear shoe.
Reply:I think maybe a pink or purple would be nice.
Reply:For a bridesmaid dress you should always match the dress exactly. And black never goes with brown. Any other color shoe but an exact match would look silly. Bridal shoppes have shoe dying capabilities and a wide selection of shoes.
Reply:Light pink, cool blue, and beige would coordinate well.

What is business casual?

I am starting a new job on January 7th for an Investment company in the position of Financial Representative. I will be on the phone in my cubicle all day with no face to face contact with actual investors, just co-workers. My thought of business casual was a pullover polo shirt with khaki's and decent shoes. I have since gotten a reaction as if that would be too casual. Please give me suggestions.

What is business casual?
Yeah slacks and a polo and nice shoes. Bring a sports jacket on the cool days and you'll look nice and cute. If you dress for success thats what you'll get.

And i would spring for dry cleaning. If you look around you will find a fair based price.
Reply:No pullover shirts. Button-up collared shirts are what would be expected. Khaki's or Dockers are fine. No tennis shoes, running shoes, or hiking shoes.
Reply:I would say probably say button down shirt, slacks and nice shoes. Maybe a tie, but no jacket.
Reply:That is "business casual." You could try a shirt and ty and khakis though i think that is above casual.
Reply:This explains:

Reply:I think its a collared, button up shirt with a tie tucked into some slacks. Thats what I think business casual is. Maybe minus the tie

Dress shoes with arch?

I need to find a shoe brand I can wear to work that is business casual that also has a good arch, like my New Balance running shoes. My podiatrist wanted me to buy these and they really help my messed up feet to feel better. Any suggestions on a brand of nicer shoes--not formal necessarily--that I can wear to work with a good arch to support my feet?

Dress shoes with arch?
Try shoes by BeautiFeel -- I've had knee %26amp; ankle operations, so wearing heels are hard on my body. These have been the best that I've found.

~~~Sneakers/Skate shoes~~~10 points!?
1) What is your favorite brand of skate shoes? DC, Duffs, Etnies, DVS, Vans, Adio, or other. I am looking for good quality, comfort, style, and cuteness. Tell me what shoes you have tried and what you think of each.
2) Have you ordered from www.Zappos.com? If so, what do you think?
3) I am 15 , 5'6'', and have size 11 feet. How would skate shoes look on me? Would my feet look bigger or smaller, or the same?
4) I dress casual and wear jeans most of the time. Should I buy shoes that are white and blue to match the jeans, so that it matches every outfit? If I bought a pair of shoes that were say, white with pink laces, would they still match everything? Or would they only match with a pink top?
Answer what you can. Thank you!! Best answer will be awarded for most informative.
~~~Sneakers/Skate shoes~~~10 points!?
1) Well, If you are looking for comfort Vans and DC shoes are both really comfortable and so are Adio's. I've never tried DVS but they look comfortable too. Etnies are really comfortable but they are kind of played out, I wouldn't get them. If you want style DC and Adio are your best choices too. I highly recomend DC just because they have style and comfort and those are your best shot too. If you're looking to skate in these shoes I think that you should go with vans though. They're not very fashionable but they're one of the best durrable skate shoes.

2) I've never ordered from Zappos.com but their shoe selection doesn't look too great. I've known people who have ordered from there and I havn't heard any complaints towards Zappos.com all my life.

3) You feet would probably look a tad bit bigger but not in length wise. Most regular tennis shoes slim your feet down, but skate shoes don't. I think that they would look fine on you, I wear size 9 1/2 to 10 and they don't make my feet look any larger than they are, but I really don't have that big of feet. If you bar lace your shoes they would look wider though because your giving the tongue of the shoe more room. I would suggest you bar lace them if you don't skate because most non-skaters who don't bar lace their shoes are often called posers because people think that they don't know how or something.

4) Skate shoes aren't really meant to match, unless you want them to. You'd have to have alot of shoes then if all your clothing had to match a pair of shoes. It really doesn't matter when it comes to matching anyways.
Reply:BLACK CONVERSE CHUCK TAYLOR HIGH TOPS!!!
Reply:1. i have white etnies with a pink e and love them and i like pretty much all of them

2. no i haven't but i would make sure you try the shoes on first before you order them because the sizes might run smaller or bigger

3. i think so but i wouldn't wear skinny jeans because yes they would make your feet look much larger so i would stick to flared jeans

4. i think any kind of white shoe with say lime green laces would match anything..yeah it wouldn't be totally matching with lets say a orange top but it owuld make your style your own and unique

hope i helped and good luck shoe shopping
Reply:1) for skater shoes Etnies, DCS, Duffs, or Vans

2) No. My favorite is famous footwear. Famousfootwear.com

3) Prolly bigger. I don't like chunky shoes (but some ppl do) so I wear pumas or nikes. My sister is 15, size 11, and five seven so she just wears cheap sneakers. I'm not like that I need a good brand. Also if you don't want skater shoes you may try new balance.

4) Pink matches everything in my book, everything besides orange and red. You may like blue better, but really whatever color you like better would be fine.

So yes, try famousfootwear.com then try etnies website and such... I ordered kangaroos off shoes.com about a year or two ago. Great service.

I wish you luck.

p.s. be sure to check name brand websites themselves

..... they usaually have a list of stores near YOU carrying their product. This may help. See what you like. You may even save on shipping. =D

Black shirt with what color shoes?

I am a 34 yr. old male and I was wondering if I can wear a black silk short sleeve shirt with khakis and brown shoes? I just want to know if I need to wear black shoes, as I don't have ones that are casual and my brown ones are.

Black shirt with what color shoes?
brown shoes will look more good on you...

but black shoes can match too...

try looking to a big mirror %26amp; see which of which

looks you more better... goodluck
Reply:Black shirt, black shoes, sorry.

Forget the khakis though and wear nice jeans.
Reply:wear what makes you comfortable

but i guess the brown would look fine
Reply:DEPENDS ON THE SHADE OF BROWN, TOO LITE WILL LOOK A LITTLE OFF, A MEDIUM OR DARK BROWN CAN WORK.
Reply:Silk with khaki (cotton) wont mesh well. You need some other material/fabric for the pants. Try a micro-fiber polyester khaki pant. You need to think not only of the colors matching but the material too. I say black shoes. (Brown, khaki, and black. Too much of a mix. The shirt, shoes, and belt must always match.)
Reply:Brown and khaki are a winning combination. Black tends to go with anything. So you should be ok. Mind you, it does depend on the style of you clothes......man, just check the mirror and see what you think!
Reply:You can wear it with brown shoes as long as you have a brown belt. Simply put, the belt must match your shoes.
Reply:Go with the brown shoes. You'll look Great
Reply:if its a dark brown shoe then it will look fine coz you r wearing the shirt with a pair of khakis. but black shoes would have looked nice but if you don't have a pair then go for the brown ones.
Reply:NO! Don't do it! Black shoes, definitely!
Reply:dont wear brown shoes. it looks tacky with a black shirt. wear black shoes with the khakis and the black shirt. other wise it looks like you cant match your colors
Reply:brown ones will look good.
Reply:you should probably where black shoes like you said. trust me, im an 11 year old girl who always matches clothes perfectley! buhbye now darling!
Reply:Go ahead and wear brown shoes, but pull your black shirt and brown shoes together with accessories such as a brown and black belt, or brown and black tie. Brown and black look great together as long as you accent with class. It maybe time to get a pair of black shoes just in case you don't have the accessories to go along with the outfit. It could be more expensive purchasing accessories!
Reply:Black shoes would look the best but brown will look okay.
Reply:pull in a brown tie and there you have it
Reply:I think black ones would look a lot better.
Reply:IF YOU DON'T HAVE BLACK SHOES THEN CHANGE YOUR SHIRT! IF NOT THEN IT'S SHOPPING TIME!!!!!
Reply:this one is very easy, black shirt , black shoes
Reply:Black
Reply:Black would look better but brown is fine. I see a lot of guys do it that way.
Reply:The brown shoes should work with the khakis.
Reply:The brown shoes should work with the khaki's.
Reply:sure.
Reply:black would definitely look better but i think it would be fine
Reply:just dress comfortably, and make sure it fits the occasion
Reply:SEE WHAT LOOKS AND FEEL BEST FOR YOU,YOU"LL BE FINE

Reply:When I was a teenager, I got hooked on a style of shoe that w as "high fashion" at the time. They made a girl's legs look good, but those shoes were destruction to feet. Your feet are very complex structures comprising lots of bones, and tendons, all very carefully positioned to support the body and move you around to maximum effect. But like a lot of other "fashion obscessed idiots" at that time I didn't want to hear about any of that. The result was that by the time was was 19 I had hammer toes and bunions and my feet looked hideous.

Twenty years later, my feet were a mess. I didn't have two toes pointing in the same direction, and I walked with constant pain. I didn't have a new pair of shoes for very long before my deformed feet had pushed them all out of shape. Eventually I became so crippled that I had to have extensive reconstructive foot surgery. Six separate operations over the course of the next two years, and during that period of time, I was hobbling around with a plaster cast on one foot or the other.. My wonderful (and expensive) orthopaedic specialist told me that I was just one of hundreds of women whose feet he'd had to reconstruct because of their foolishness earlier in life. Unfortunately by that time it was already too late for me to "get smart". I know that you are talking about school shoes right now, not fashion shoes. But I just wanted to use the opportunity to get in my two cents' worth with my own story, so hopefully when you start thinking about buying those high heels and pointy toes because they "look so good" you'll think twice about it and remember how precious those two things on the end of your legs are. They're going to have to do a very long and difficult job for many years to come. So the most important thing in your mind.... more than color, more than appearance, is are they truly "foot friendly". You'll never be sorry for it.

Business casual attire for a teenager?

I am attending a leadership seminar for the Zonta club, and the invite said " Appropriate attire is requested- business casual preferred."

What would this be for a teenager? Include shoes too please, cause i probably need to go get some. If you include links, no online stores and nothing too pricey

Thanks!

Business casual attire for a teenager?
Business casual--nice blazer (try LL Bean or a department store, perhaps an H%26amp;M or similar store), button up shirt or polo, khaki or dress pants. A sweater could be worn with the polo. A nice skirt that is appropriate length (i.e. knee-length or slightly longer) is also business casual. Chose a dressy material.

Shoes--low pumps (maybe 1.5 inches maximum), leather boots, leather shoes. Mules/clogs are not appropriate, and neither are flipflops!

I hope this helps!

If you wear a nice sleevless top you can always throw a cardigan on to make it look cute, you will probably end up in a cold room at your seminar so take a sweater. I like this one: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat...

Basically though pick very basic colors, you REALLY can not go wrong with black and white. If you want shoes... pick a sling back or something with a back with a kitten heel (http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDe... or ballet flats. Just in case you have to walk a lot.

Hope this helps. Basically they want you to dress up but dont go as far as a suit. Make sure your hair is nice, wear nice stud earrings (nothing too showy). Good luck.
Reply:pants that are not jeans, camis or cargo. something like a pair of black dickies or nice slacks in grey or black. a button down blouse and appropriate shoes could be cute or comfy but matching pants and low heel.

Looking for a cute dress and flats to shoes to go with it for school!! I am 13 so must be age appropiate...?

My school only has 2 rules about clothes. They cant be super short and your shoes must be closed with no heels. So baically flats are the best choice.

I am 13 years old in 8th grade and I really want to wear a cute casual fall/winter dress to school. I just need shoes to go with it.

My hair is long blode and curly so what hairstyle should go with it.

Please do not make it too expensive

Also, please provide links

Polo shirts for womens dress pants? Business casual?

Long story short. Im getting hired on permanently at work and my dress code will change. Its in a warehouse, ill be moving around alot, but im in the office area. Would it look right to wear a polo shirt with dress pants and dress shoes? Im trying to keep things simple. Its business casual i think. They were very vague on what i could wear. Just said "slacks", no shirts with writing, and didnt mention shoes.

Polo shirts for womens dress pants? Business casual?
Sounds ok to me. Polo shirt in warehouse environment would be normal, even if you're in the office area.
Reply:yes sounds good, maybe layer a shirt underneath that complements or is lacy

close toe shoes for sure
Reply:i guess if they don't say not
Reply:That sounds alright to me, I don't get why there's no shirt with writing rules. But I would recommend polos from American Eagle, Hollister, or Abercrombie %26amp; Fitch, they are the best quality and only display a small logo in the corner of the shirt.
Reply:Yes.This sounds like an appropriate outfit.
Reply:warehouse - rubber soled shoes. (loafers usually qualify)

polo shirt sounds fine. Dress pants - fine. Khakis would be excellent (loafers work with them, too) If you overstep the line they'll let you know. Just don't go too expensive. You may be called upon to help out and you want to be able to.
Reply:I was looking at macys.com and they dont have polos matched with slacks at all. I dont think it would like right. If you are wearing slacks you need a slightly dressier shirt like a button up...http://www1.macys.com/catalog/index.ognc...

i just went shopping today for this kind of thing b/c i start a new job on tuesday. I wouldnt wear a polo with slacks!

Jogging clothes and shoes?

So i want to start running to lose weight but i don't know what kind of attire is appropriate. It's not like track or anything, just casual running around a park.

Also, what type of shoes should i be wearing so that i dont hurt my feet? Are converse ok?

Jogging clothes and shoes?
For just casual running, a pair of shorts and a tshirt would be fine; depending on the weather, you can add long sleeve shirts, sweatpants, running tights, windbreakers...everyone really has their own personal preferences about running/jogging clothes.

As for shoes...Converses are horrible to run in. Seriously, they are possbly the worst type of tennis shoe to run in, because they have absolutely no arch support, are made of canvas, and have that whole rubber thing in the toe (not that I don't like Converses; I've got 3 pairs myself. But they're not running shoes at all.) Unlike what someone else said, walking shoes are not made for running in, and running shoes do have support in them. If they don't have enough support in them, well, that's what inserts are for. For a casual runner, I'd just go to a shoe store and look for shoes marked "running shoes;" a salesperson could probably help you find them. If you ever started adding on more mileage to your workouts, I'd go to a store that specializes in running clothes/shoes or sports attire in general, and ask them to help you find shoes; they are trained to help find shoes that support your arches and stuff. (Actually, I'd recomend the running store first, but shoes there tend to be more expensive than normal shoe stores.) Good luck, and sorry for the wordy answer!
Reply:converse are alright but they aren't really made for running. some adidas, reebok or nikes would be more suitable, and shorts and a top or singlet are fine. but converse would be alright, yes.
Reply:You should just wear a regular white t-shirt or a tank top, shorts or capris and good running shoes, not converse.

Nikes would be a good choice for shoes.
Reply:I'm not an expert, but try to find something that is comfortable to you (also comfortable to be seen in) but something that allows you alot of movement. This is why alot of people choose baggy sweats, or tight and small spandex. Either extreme isn't likely to prevent you from moving or get in your way as much. if you have long hair, get something (ponytail, headband) to keep it out of your face. As for shoes, if you plan to do this alot, and if you have ANY history of foot problems: invest in a good pair of running shoes. But find a good pair of shoes that are comfortable and support your foot well. Converses might be ok but i think the added ability to absorb the impact of running and added support that tennis shoes (running shoes, sneakers) give you is probably much better for your feet.
Reply:Well I would wear a sweatshirt because then you produce more sweat so you will lose more weight in a shorter amount of time

shoes dont get "running shoes" they dont have enough support in them. you should wear comfortable new balance shoes "walking"

Should I wear brown or black shoes with this outfit? (please read on)?

It's a light blue short-sleveed argile sweater with a some black in it, and a black shirt underneath (it sticks out the bottom a little)-- with a pair of light-colored (casual) khaki pants.

Should I wear brown or black shoes?

I have heard that you wear brown shoes with khakis, but what if you have black elsewear in your outfit?

Thanks.

Should I wear brown or black shoes with this outfit? (please read on)?
you can wear black w/ khakis, and since your sweater has some black in it, wear black shoes
Reply:Black shoes! you can't have brown with black no matter what :)
Reply:You can wear either and it will work - the brown will match the khakis and the black will match the black in the sweater. Best of both worlds! :)
Reply:You know, people say that black and brown dont mix, and don't even try it.- thats bogus. Obviously if you have mainly black or mainly brown youre going to wear what you have the most of...

BUT you can wear either with this outfit, and the way to determine how is to see what accessories you will be wearing with it. If you are going for a darker look (alot of makeup up-darker, a darker or black purse, darker earrings ect) then you can wear the black shoes.

If you have a lighter or tan purse, going for a more natural makeup look and have lighter accessories, then go for the brown.

Its really what else you are pairing it with for this outfit...
Reply:What I do sometimes is wear the brown shoes, only if I have an accessory like a brown purse or a brown necklace when I'm wearing a diff colored top. For example I wore a light blue sweater yesterday with tan slacks, and wore brown heels with a brown necklace and brown purse(clutch)
Reply:Black definately
Reply:To me, black shoes can match any outfits! Futhermore, you've a black shirt wearing underneath your sweater. So I think black shoes should match!
Reply:black shoes
Reply:BLACK lol Im not a picky person but a petpeeve of mine is seeing someone with black and brown clashing. khaki is more in the light tan/white category. It would look nice and pull your oufit together much better! :}
Reply:Either could work, but I think black shoes are a bit better with black and blue in the top portion of your ensemble.
Reply:I think you should go with the black to match the black in your sweater. This sounds like it will pull the outfit together .
Reply:Either would look fine...I would wear the ones that are most comfortable!
Reply:Go with the black

I need help finding shoes...?

I love flip-flops, especially in warm weather with capris (since, in my opinion, oversized skater shoes and plaid shorts just don't mix). The only thing is, my dad won't allow me to wear those rubber flip-flops everyone else wears in school. He's a navy dude, and he considers them "shower shoes" and "inappropriate for school". I guess it's not a big problem; it only complicates things, and he isn't seeing it from a modern girl's perspective. Well, anyway, he does allow me to wear thong-style shoes, with a hard bottom like a regular sandal; however, this is next to impossible to find in a style I like. I have owned shoes in the past that looked exactly like the casual rubber-soled flip-flops, but that seemed to be a thing of chance. Could someone please help me find shoes that my dad would deem appropriate, yet look as close as possible to plain old flip-flops? And being cheap (%26lt;$20) would be nice... :-P

If you're looking for not online, then I would suggest mall stores such as Macys or Nordstrom, but if you're looking for less pricey, then TJ Maxx or Marshalls or Ross have great selections.
Reply:The most comfortable shoes I ever had were Dexter. Try shoe pavilion.

Marshalls is a similar type store, but a little more on the expensive side compared to Ross. They have a huge variety of shoes in all brands too, most are probably under $40.

For my sister's wedding, I recently bought a light blue tea-length dress. What shoes should I wear?

It is casual, but cute nonetheless. Should I go with shoes that are the same color as the dress, or opt for a complementing color such as silver? Also, what style of shoe goes best with knee-length dresses?

For my sister's wedding, I recently bought a light blue tea-length dress. What shoes should I wear?
Have you gotten a handbag yet? If you have, match your shoes to your handbag.

If you are wearing silver accesories, silver shoes would be nice (but not really shiny silver, lol). If you are going to try to match the shoes to the dress, make sure that the color is the SAME blue, if not, it will look a bit tacky.

Remember it is a wedding, you will be standing for some time: Don't wear 4" heels-A 3 inch heel is perfect for an ocassion such as this one.
Reply:You could wear ballet flats or 2-3 inch heels would be nice. As for colors silver or you could mach it with the color of your dress. I guess it all just depends on what you like. Hope this helps good luck!.
Reply:Never wear a shoe that is darker than your dress. Ever. It will look completely off and wrong. Also, white shoes are not at all in fashion this year. I personally think silver shoes would look the best, because you do not want to look too "matchy". I would go with about a 3 inch heel, nothing with too chunky of a heel, Wedge heels are really in this year. Whatever you wear, just make sure they are comfortable and you can walk in them! Have a great time at the wedding!
Reply:A nice heel, something with straps. Don't wear silver if it's an afternoon wedding (I don't know if that's a fashion rule, but I think it looks silly). Bone, navy or matching blue (if it's after Memorial Day, white would be OK)
Reply:High heel -strappy open toed! I think with a shorter dress, you should go with the same colored shoes. You don't want to take away from the dress with a shoe that stands out. You can take your dress to almost any bridal shop and they can match it. Payless has a wedding shoe section now. I believe it is $30 (maybe $35) for the shoes and dying them! They have a book you can choose the colors from.
Reply:Silver is fine or tan/sand/bronze/camel/ gold strappy or peep toe
Reply:Go with either a white or silver pump. The colors will complement the dress beautiful and the style of the shoe will also! Pumps are classic beauty..
Reply:black, open toe, and 2-3 inch high heel. Have fun!
Reply:I would go for a open toed strapy sandle. Either Black or the same blue as the dress but DEFENTILY NOT SILVER.
Reply:white strappy heels
Reply:You could do silver or white. But I think a strappy, sling-back would be the most appropriate. I also think that you could pull off a skin colored shoe. I like to do that with pastel or light colored clothes. It looks very sexy, I think anyways.

2 1/2 inch heel should be good.
Reply:Something with a small heel, strappy, and probably Silver... That's what I would wear.

Also keep in mind patent leather is for fall/winter and should not under any circumstance be worn in the spring or summer.
Reply:im not a fan of pointy toe shoes

Which shoes would you wear?

You have met a real dreamboat! Ooo la la! You have a date that will probably involve a lot of walking and is not formal, but the dress code is above casual. Would you wear a fairly new pair of shoes that really looked "hot and snazzy" or would you wear your older plainer shoes that would still be acceptable but unimpressive?

Which shoes would you wear?
whichever pair will be the catalyst for concluding the evening with you legs in the air
Reply:Flats would be perfect. theyre comfy and look snazzy! they would leave a great first impression but not leave your feet sore. :o)
Reply:Lemme tell ya about MY really nice shoes. They are black, button up the front (with hidden elastic loops- they LOOK buttoned up) with a 3/4 inch heel and rubber soles, so they feel like sneakers, but are really dressy. I use gel insoles with Dr. Scholl's 1 0z (or 2- or whatever ounce they are) Miracle Insoles on top of that. Walking on a cloud!!! My feet used to really get to burning by the end of a four-five hour gig. So I took measures!

Those "?-oz Miracle" insoles are really great. they conform to your feet.
Reply:You must go out and buy shoes for this occasion. The bottom line is they must match your outfit. At the same time you don't want to walk around in pain. As long as it matches what your wearing your date will probably be looking into your eyes, not your shoes.
Reply:i wud weer the hot n snazzy ones, cuz the other ones wud be unimpressive, and so yea.... but if u r comfurtable with yur date than just weer the other ones if u want.... plus it depends on the outfit, wich looks better with it....
Reply:Wear the highest, spikiest, most wicked pair of platforms you can find. Let him know you are "available." He'll get the hint...
Reply:plainer ones

it's not worth the very sore feet
Reply:plainer one...hot and snazzy is too much for walks, its good for night outs!
Reply:DEFINATELY THE HOT AND SNAZZY ONES! U WANT TO MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION...THE PAIN SHOULD BE WELL WORTH IT;)!
Reply:if there is one speck of ooh lala, you better up your game, suck it up, take Advil, whatever, you better wear the nice ones.
Reply:Wear a nice outfit and normal shoes will be okay.
Reply:wear the snazzy
Reply:why?
Reply:It depends what you are wearing, if you arer dressing ase ase (spanish for so-so) formal then get a nice pair of dress soes and in the shoe section there will be gel pads, pick the one that is soft enough and buy it, on the date brind a small bottle of shoeshine if you dont wanna get your shoes dirty, and excuse yourself to the bathroom whe the black turns brown. The shoes will be comfortable yet formal. YES, and clean. If you are dressing dude-ish just throw on some sneakers, try to get off all the dirt by wiping it off with a napkin and buy the gel pads for more comfort. I hope you have a good time on ur date, enjoy yourself and be youreslf!

Reply:personally not my style, but if they're your style, go for it
Reply:hey they have those same shoes but in different colors look for the ones that suit your style so you don t have to fit into someone elses pereption of being cool
Reply:love them. get the brown and pink.
Reply:If your preppy then you might want to try something else vans are more skater, personally i love vans but thats just me
Reply:They nice, but you can get these shose everywhere. You should try to find shoes that not many people can get. But, if you do get them they will go good with a lot of colors. They are nuetral, so browns, red, and greys, will match them. But other colors will make them stand out more.

Girls, what colour shoes go well with a pale yellow dress? Besides yellow and white shoes?

The dress is sleeveless and below the knees. Its pale yellow NOT canary yellow. Its a casual dress (with a pale flower print) you would wear to an outdoor event like a picnic etc.

Its casual enough to go shopping in too. What colour shoes or sandals go well with this kind of dress. Thanks

Wear some flats or wedges. I can't think of any other colors. If you want to make a statement, wear purple or green shoes.
Reply:RED!

So hot. So in. Can't go wrong with it.

Red pumps, definatly.

Reply:I'd try a tan/nude/natural color. They'll enlongate the leg and look great with pale yellow. If you want to get them at Nordstrom, there is free shipping this month when you buy a pair of shoes. You can always return them at the store for free if they don't fit. Here are the details:
Reply:Pink, black goes with everything baige navy blue also to make the outfit pop their is always red!!!
Reply:I would go for a light brown (taupe type color). If you go with a shoe like silver, etc., I would go with one more on the gold tone as gold looks better with yellow than silver (my opinion) - a cute little pair of goldish color sandals would be very cute.

Business Casual for an 18-Year-Old?

I just turned 18, and I'm a jeans-hoodie-and-sneakers kind of dresser, described by many as a "tomboy".

So, I just got a job in a small clinic as a file clerk, and the dress code is "business casual".

How can I conform to the dress standards without being super uncomfortable? A skirt is foreign to me, and wearing slacks makes me feel like I'm 35. I'm also a wuss - I tried wearing "professional" shoes and at the end of the day, my feet were drenched in blood (no joke). I still have trouble walking due to all the cuts and scabs I still have - the shoes were my size.

How can I make "business casual" comfortable for me, and appropiate for my young age? I hate sounding like I'm whining, because I know that's just the way the workforce is, but I'm stumped. LOL.

Business Casual for an 18-Year-Old?
I was a jeans and hoodie girl myself before I started working. Fortunately, there are ways to make business casual comfortable and even fun.

Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to compromise somewhere. Since it sounds like skirts aren't your think, I'd recommend taking a walk through your local Abercrombie. You'll see racks of khakis, cords and other non-jeans. Pants made for someone your age will be much more fun and a lot more flattering than more traditional slacks. And they should still be business casual appropriate as long as they're not ripped or frayed.

If you want to try a skirt, you can always pair it with a pair of tights or opaque nylons and ballet flats to make it more comfortable.

Most importantly, I don't know what you mean by "professional" shoes, but a good pair of shoes, even a pair of stiletto pumps, should never leave your feet bloody! (Tired - yes, bloody - no.) Your shoes may not have been broken in or they may not have fit properly, despite being the correct size.

After your feet heal, you can try wearing them around the house with a thick pair of socks to "break them in." If that doesn't help - throw them out!

And don't feel like professional shoes means 3" heels. There are plenty of cute and professional looking flats out there. Ballet flats are comfortable and stylish and are available everywhere in just about every color imaginable. And Sketchers has some shoes that are nice looking but still feel like your favorite pair of sneakers.

Whatever you choose to wear, make sure you're comfortable in it. After all, confidence is always your best asset, and you'll never be confident if your feet are bleeding and your clothes make you miserable!
Reply:Unfortunately, you have to leave the jeans, (t-shirts), hoodie and sneakers at home while you work. How about a nice pair of khaki slacks that fit but aren't too tight, some tops from Ross or other discount store that is form fitting but not revealing (and covers your butt), and the sleek sneaker that doesn't look as much like a sneaker? That would be the perfect "outfit" for such an office...it's comfortable but not too dressy to make you feel uncomfortable. After a month or so, you will get used to it, I promise.
Reply:Business casual is pretty much the same for 18 as it is for 38. No jeans, hoodies or t-shirts. That doesn't mean you have to wear a skirt. .

Any kind of pants that aren't jeans should count as business casual. If you're a tomboy then an oxford button up kind of shirt or anything with a collar should work.

Just remember if it's ripped, distressed or has writing on it then you shouldn't wear it.

As for shoes there are plenty of shoes you can wear that aren't uncomfortable. If it's not a "sneaker" or other athletic shoe you should be Ok. Sketchers makes great work/play shoes.

PS Kudos for being 18 and caring enough to get a job!!
Reply:I would just get a couple pairs of plain black pants and different colored shirts that are of a nice material and mix and match them. For shoes, just wear black flats, there are tons that are comfortable. In my office, business casual can be a nice pair of jeans with a nice top. Add accessories to make the outfit look dressier
Reply:You don't necessarily have to wear slacks, but I like to wear khakis or Dockers (even mens brands) with polo shirts and loafers. I look kind of tomboyish (okay let's be straight about it -- I look pretty darn "butch" most of the time LOL) but biz-caz doesn't have to be uncomfortable! I haven't worn "nylons" since 2nd grade and I've been at a business-casual job for 10 years!

Good luck!
Reply:The first and most important thing about shoes is that you break them in before you use them for any extended period of time.

Uncomfortable or not, this is the real world and you have to dress for it. I am autistic and I can assure you that as uncomfortable as you may be in business clothing, it is much worse for me.

Find clothes that are comfortable and stylish, but not revealing or 'sexy' for work. Wear them at home before you wear them at work.

Also practice good posture and manners, as you will need them.
Reply:I'm thinking that slacks will be your only option if you don't do skirts and dresses.

You can get some very comfortable work-like Skechers that would look great with slacks and a polo shirt.

You can always find nice tops a Old Navy or Target to go with you slacks.

I need shoes advice (MENS)?

Before you read on, please note that I AM A MAN, do not use womens views on this topic.

Formal Wear: I dont have any good ones right now. I have a pair of black ones, but they suck. First of all, i dont have much money so i need something now. If I were to have one pair of shoes to go with a black suit that can be worn dressy, what would your recommend? I was thinking black leather lace up? How about brown shoes? But I only have a black suit...

Casual Wear: I want to get a white/green pair of Lacoste Carnabys. And as for another pair, should I look into the john varvatos converse slipons? Or something else? Should I just stay away from sneakers, casually??? How about a pair of brown or black loafers? Moccasins? Something(s) that can go with jeans, and/or khakis?

I need shoes advice (MENS)?
You will always need a black pair for formal. Brown shoes doesn't look to good with a black suit.

Casual wear =%26gt; anything goes theses days as long as they don't stand out too much and are comfortable. Remember comfort is important.

My advice it you should take some advice from the ladies too. They shop more, so they know where to find bargains (my wife always seem to know when a sale is on) and they know what looks good on a man.
Reply:UUUUGGH I CAN'T READ BUT I LIKE WEARING PIE ON MY FEETSIES!
Reply:Tennis shoes go with jeans...get you a pair.
Reply:for dress wear get a pair of black lace ups is probably your best bet, if you don't have a lot of money to spend, try aldo shoes, they don't have the best reputation for quality, but they are cheap and stylish. What ever you don't wear brown shoes with a black suit, it's a big fashion no no. I personally find brown shoes very hard to pull off without looking old-man-ish, though they are coming back in style. And don't get one of those really big clunky pairs of dress shoes, they are uguly, and don't have the necessary refinement for dress wear.

As for casual wear, I wouldn't get two pairs of the same shoes, since judging by your question you will be in casual wear most of the time, variety is the key here, a pair of fabric slip ons like these http://www.aldoshoes.com/eng/storeSectio...

would be nice, the converse aren't a bad choice, but maybe not the chuck taylors. a pair of black driving moccasins or casual loafers would look good too, of course the season, and where you live would have some baring on what you chose too, and of cordinate the shoes with the rest of your wardrobe, for example, if it's summer, or you live in a warm climate try a pair of white leather slip ons, and of course sandals would be an essential too, or in the wintertime, or a cold climate maybe try ankle boots, or snow boots, likewise coordinate our shoes with your wardrobe, for example black shoes pair well with dark denim.
Reply:Buy the best pair of black lace ups you can afford. They'll last longer and black goes with everything. Brown doesn't. As for casual for comfort, I'd go with Clark's falcons or Doc Martins. There aren't cheap but they'll hold up for a long time if you take care of them. They go for 80 to 100 each.
Reply:The problem with men Is that they lack colour coordination and always find a way of getting into drab looking suits, shirts and ties and that brown shoe, brown shoes with a black suit? forget It!

We man are just lacking the guts to get out there and get a teal suit and set It off with a red or purple shirt and black shoes that are pointed rather than snub nosed. Use your Imagination and you will be surprised to find that women will be making some pretty smooth comments. Dare to be different? Top IT off with a black or steel grey Fedora. You will be hearing the word sexy more than you have ever heard it before.

Most Importantly you can look really great on a budget.

Tan shoes and pants lace up or slip on, offset the casual look with a cool shirt light or dark blues.

Forget about what Is supposedly In fashion and be prepared to make a statement about you. That you are not the run of the mill guy locked In on name brand clothing be a trend setter and get used to the compliments from women!

Me? discovered that the women that you will attract will be the ones that never bothered to say hello!

How do you dress for a job interview if the person who is gonna interview me told me to dress "VERY casual"?

I was told you always dress super nice, even if they tell you to dress casual. Dress shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes. But what if he thinks I'm too uptight or something? Should I dress business casual, like a nice polo shirt, dress pants, and dress shoes? Or should I dress it up?

How do you dress for a job interview if the person who is gonna interview me told me to dress "VERY casual"?
That's a tough one. What kind of job is this for? Sounds like a trick to me.

I would avoid being "VERY casual" and go with some kahkis, a nice polo and decent shoes. That way, you look more dressed up than usual but not in a full out suit.
Reply:My suggestion: Schedule something on the same day that requires a suit. That will be your excuse for wearing the suit to the interview. (Even better if it's another interview.)
Reply:I think a guy looks good in a nice polo shirt,and pressed jeans,no holes or anything.or dress pants,I wouldn't wear a tie and jacket..just look nice.I would go with the business casual,if he says something say I thought this was casual.or you wouldn't want me to come in my casual(lol)
Reply:If they tell you to dress casual that means you can get away without wearing a jacket.. and depending on the position, maybe without a tie.

But really, it is always a good idea to just go fully dressed up. Nobody is going to hold it against you.
Reply:If you were told to dress VERY casual, wearing a suit is out. I would say a tie is out too. Is this at an IT company? If so, business casual is just fine (over the top on a normal working day, but OK for an interview).

Have you ever seen anybody at this company in person? How were they dressed? Dress similarly if you have.
Reply:I guess it depends on where it is. If it's a really laid back place, I'd still wear nice khakis and a button up shirt or a polo and some nice shoes. You can definitely do casual w/o looking sloppy. Good luck!
Reply:Khakis, shoes (no sneaks or sandals) a button down shirt or a polo shirt.
Reply:shirt and jeans

if he asks you to do that, he'll realize that you'll do what he says.
Reply:If the interviewer said VERY casual I would go with khakis and a polo shirt and a *clean* pair of tennis shoes.
Reply:No jeans.

Listen, dont take the risk of losing like a loser. His idea of "very casual" and your idea may be 2 different things. Therefore, wear khaki pants %26amp; a button down shirt/polo shirt, and a clean pair of decent casual shoes. Thats casual enough. Dont do the flip-flops, shorts, and dirty t-shirt thing--please.
Reply:business casual. Nice slacks, nice shirt, nice shoes.....look professional but comfortable.

What brown shoes to wear with blue jeans and blazer?

I read a lot of sites that say if you decide to wear brown shoes with jeans, you certainly can. However, you have to make sure the shoe is not too dressy, like polished type of look where you wear for formal occasions.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/12341176.ht...

Is this too polished ? I am assuming anything that says Oxford is too dressy for jeans? The thing is i want to wear a blazer with jeans along with brown shoes. The blazer is sort of tan/brownish which is why i chosed brown for shoes. I didn't know the brown shoes should not look dressy or have that polished type of look which my shoe does. This shoe is under the category of dress shoe when i bought it online.

My question is if i wear a brown/tan blazer with dark blue jeans, does the brown shoe i buy must be under the category of casual? I am asking this because i hear people saying never buy dress shoes if you want to wear blue jeans even though you may be wearing a tan/brown blazer.

Is wearing brown loafers the best idea ?

What brown shoes to wear with blue jeans and blazer?
The shoes you show here are definitely dressy.

Try loafers, moccasins, boat shoes, or any shoe that is not 'glossy' when new. [ suede oxford maybe? ]

As a general rule...

Black shoes go with black, gray, greens, blues, and purples.

Dark [ coffee bean ] shoes go with brown, tan, reds, oranges, and yellows.
Reply:I think the shoes from the link might be a tad dressy not because of the style but because they do look a bit too shiny for your blazer/jeans ensemble (although the Kenneth Coles are handsome shoes and worth it if you have other outfits to wear with them). If you have brown leather loafers that are not shiny, I think they are perfect and, yes, your best bet/idea.

Sounds like once you get yourself "all put together" the ladies will be flocking around you. And, how did I guess you were single? If you were married, you wouldn't have to ask us this question ------- your wife would already have your whole outfit picked out !! (:0)=

PS: Don't forget to wear a brown leather casual belt that's not shiny either !!

Advice on shoes for suit & dress?

I'm clueless when it comes to fashion %26amp; struggling to find shoes for 2 outfits. One is a periwinkle blue dress. The other is a suit with an ice blue jacket and a plaid-ish skirt that has ice blue, pistachio green, silver and white in it. I'm hoping I might find one pair of shoes that will work for both...usually wear black pumps or sandals but they don't quite work with these colors. I have 2 questions:

What do you think would be the best color(s) of shoe?

Do you think strappy sandals are too casual to go with a suit? The suit jacket is short sleeved and skirt is above the knee, if that matters.

Advice on shoes for suit %26amp; dress?
What type of event are you wearing these outfits for? Perhaps a dressy silver sandal with a small heal would work. Then of course accessorize with silver jewelry. What is the material of the periwinkle dress? Is it a casual sundress, a cocktail dress, or something for work? Where you plan to wear these outfits can also help to determine what shoes to pair them with. You could alos consider a flesh toned strapless backed shoe to keep it neutal and sexy. Very simple is key.
Reply:I would suggest a open toe shoe with the jacket and skirt. Bring out a color in you skirt.
Reply:GO WITH WHITE PEEPTOE PUMPS. THEY CAN LOOK PROFESSIONAL WITH A SUIT AND CUTE WITH A DRESS. YOU CAN DRESS THEM UP OR DOWN
Reply:I would do open toed heels with one or a few wide straps, then it is not too casual. Maybe a peek-a-boo toe. If you don't like having alot of shoes, the most versatile color would be white. Plus white is gool for warmer months rather than black pumps. I put a link to something I think would look nice below.
Reply:just wear a type of strapped sandle dress shoe. They work well with everything.

best colour of shoe would be something classic so not only will it go with these two outfits but also others. try cream.

there are so many types of strappy's, i wear strappy's in the summer that have heels. if they are flat would probably be too casual

In a jeans/polo shirt casual work environment, what is a more stylish shoe to replace sneakers?

I typically wear black/blue jeans, and solid colored polo shirts to work. I lately not liked how tennis shoes / sneakers look. What is one all-purpose shoe I could get that would match with everything and go up on the style ladder shoe wise. Black? Brown? I need to keep it simple. Links to shoes would be helpful.

Try zappos.com They have tons of shoes orfanized by category. Im sure you'll find somethign there you like. You dont have to buy from them but it will give you a good idea of what you want. Try looking under casual.
Reply:I personally would go with a pair of Johnston Murphy shoes. These are good for work or even going out or hanging with friends. www.JohnstonMurphy.com They have a casual section there that might suit you. As for what color shoes; Well make sure your shoes match your belt. Ex Black belt means black shoes. Brown belt means brown shoes.
Reply:I know you said no sneakers, but Lacoste brand shoes seems to be popular here with the men (even tho they aren't supposed to wear them because its a competitor logo). Love their soft bottom loafers and they're very comfy (I've heard). The sneakers are also "dressy" enough to not look too much like sneakers (if that makes any sense).

Reply:A black leather sneaker with black shoe strings or low ankle and calf high boots in black leather or suede is a very nice and more comfortable replacement for the black patent leather dress shoe we all want to avoid. The idea is to look like your wearing a somewhat more casual dress shoe with the comfort and feel of sneakers. You won't have to spend much, my sister and I get ours from Walmart and Pay Less Shoe Stores. They aren't hard to find, they are popular in the business world, as are dark pants, skirts and jackets.
