Which shoes do you like the best?

I'm going into 9th grade and need to get some shoes for back to school. My style is preppy casual, and I love bold stuff and bright colors like yellow, orange, red, and pink. Which Vans do you think I should get (I'm gonna get 2 pairs), please be specific about the colors. Thanks! =)

Here are the choices:

Reply:When I was a teenager, I got hooked on a style of shoe that w as "high fashion" at the time. They made a girl's legs look good, but those shoes were destruction to feet. Your feet are very complex structures comprising lots of bones, and tendons, all very carefully positioned to support the body and move you around to maximum effect. But like a lot of other "fashion obscessed idiots" at that time I didn't want to hear about any of that. The result was that by the time was was 19 I had hammer toes and bunions and my feet looked hideous.

Twenty years later, my feet were a mess. I didn't have two toes pointing in the same direction, and I walked with constant pain. I didn't have a new pair of shoes for very long before my deformed feet had pushed them all out of shape. Eventually I became so crippled that I had to have extensive reconstructive foot surgery. Six separate operations over the course of the next two years, and during that period of time, I was hobbling around with a plaster cast on one foot or the other.. My wonderful (and expensive) orthopaedic specialist told me that I was just one of hundreds of women whose feet he'd had to reconstruct because of their foolishness earlier in life. Unfortunately by that time it was already too late for me to "get smart". I know that you are talking about school shoes right now, not fashion shoes. But I just wanted to use the opportunity to get in my two cents' worth with my own story, so hopefully when you start thinking about buying those high heels and pointy toes because they "look so good" you'll think twice about it and remember how precious those two things on the end of your legs are. They're going to have to do a very long and difficult job for many years to come. So the most important thing in your mind.... more than color, more than appearance, is are they truly "foot friendly". You'll never be sorry for it.
