Are white sneakers considered business casual?

I'm going to an orientation, and it says as far as shoes goes, it says it can be casual or professional shoes. Would white sneakers be considered business casual?

Are white sneakers considered business casual?
Sneakers are considered a sport shoe, not a business shoe, and don't wear work boots either. By casual a loafer or a cowboy boot is acceptable.
Reply:No!

Athletic shoes are NOT business casual.

BC means loafers or other slip-ons rather than tied shoes.
Reply:err on the side of caution, unless you are orienting at a tennis center.....no, biz cazh means loafers or better
Reply:If it says casual or professional, I would do something nicer than tennis shoes...
Reply:I wish it were!

Any athletic shoe or a white shoe cannot be considered professional or business casual, not ever. Sorry about that.

If it is an orientation, it must be important enough to wear a better shoe than sneakers. C'mon, what are you saving your good shoes for?

If you go "under-dressed" you can never recover from that. Play it safe, wear the dress shoes.
Reply:only after memorial day, and before labor day. Otherwise, wearing white is not acceptable.
Reply:It's considered casual casual, nothing to do with business. . .sneackers should not come any where near the office. . .unless you keep them in a drawer, to use after work at you Tennis tournament.
Reply:unfortunately no
Reply:Definitely not.
