How do suede shoes hold up during winter and rain?

Like casual suede reebok shoes, or american eagle shoes... shoes similar to that style with suede. Not shoes with only suede.

How do suede shoes hold up during winter and rain?
The suede will darken and eventually get brittle, won't look good for long in winter and rain.
Reply:It's not at all good for them...if I had a nice pair of suede shoes to wear them on such days, I would buy some of those disposable plastic head covers [like people who work in restaurants use to cover their heads] and cover them when outside on days like that.
Reply:well, if you get suede wet, it smells and gets dirty quick, my suggestion, saty away form suede in rain and snow
Reply:Wow! Suede shoes in Reebok, Nike and similar brands are really cool and look fashionably attractive as well as very comfortable for the feet. Good choice! However, you have to really maintain them especially in rain or snow because suede is the reversed leather and it absorves water or moisture quite quickly and may lose it's original shape and colour. If exposed to sloppy snow in winter for long it gets that ugly white stains of snow-salt and it's quite stubborn. It's cool actually.
