Cute shoes to wear on my wedding day?

I'm getting married next April and I'm looking for shoes to wear with my wedding dress. My fiance and I are right around 5'8'' so I don't want to be towering over him in some outrageous heels.

Flats, low sandals and kitten heels seem to be popular this season, but are they too informal or casual for a wedding? I mean, it's not going to be a super-fancy wedding, but still...

Anyway, my wedding dress (which I ordered yesterday) is a light ivory satin ballgown with a fitted bodice and A-line skirt.

Let me know if you need more info!

Cute shoes to wear on my wedding day?
I think kitten heels would be wonderful, you would still have the illusion of a heel without the height. Just make sure they are comfortable since you will be in them for most of the day.
Reply:Well Im getting married in Sept and my fiance is 6'3. I bought me some flip flops that have a chunky hill but its only 1 inch so its not that tall...but I figured that I'll be on my feet all day and I am gonna be comfortable. I bought some ballarina slippers for the reception too! CONGRATS!!!
Reply:I wanted several things regarding the shoes I wore. I wanted shoes that would make me short, and I wanted shoes that would keep me planted, didnt want to trip! I ended up wearing ballerina slippers. But I always regretted not wearing my high top tennis shoes! LOL Wouldve been perfect for me.

Congrats on the engagement!
Reply:Ballerina flats are really nice. Wear any shoes around the house proior to the wedding to break them in a little. You don't want your feet to be hurting on your wedding day.
Reply:I found a cute pair of shoes but the heel is 3 inches. I dont think youll be towering over him with these but you might be a inch or two taller. Their Ivory too just like your dress. Check them out!

Reply:Most brides that I've seen have worn flipflops or bellett shoes or other flat shoes, except for ones with dresses that are shorter where the shoes will actually show. Think about it: nobody will see your shoes unless you lift up your dress if you're worried about pictures then get some nice shoes for show then get some comfy shoes for walking around and dancing. I think kitten heels are perfect- they're not too uncomfortable or high and still look nice.

You could do al sorts of shoes. If you're country - do some cowgirl boots, if you want something blue get turquoise flats, if you like to be comfortable wear fuzzy slippers.

if your bridesmaids dresses are long then you can all wear a pair of matching sneakers or cute sandals. Have fun with is and make them personal.

God Bless!
Reply:No matter what you choose, MAKE SURE you have an extra pair of flats or ballet slippers to put on. Even if you never use them, its worth just having them for piece of mind. And remember, no one will see your shoes they will be hidden under ALOT of material.

Good luck!
Reply:Whatever you choose, make sure they are comfortable! You are going to be on your feet for HOURS. Might want to consider a change of shoes for the reception.

I've known brides to wear flats, ballet slipper type shoes %26amp; even tennis shoes. And some end up running around in their stockings or barefoot.
Reply:You don't want shoes that are too uncomfortable at your wedding because you will be in them all day. I'd say get ballet type shoes, they come in pink and white(black too, but I'm sure you don't want black lol) :) My sister-in-law wore white flip flops under her dress. No one even knew except us brides maids and my brother. Its a little tacky, but whatever keeps YOU comfy and not towering over your husband-to-be! Congrats and good luck!
Reply:Just make sure their comfortable your going to be in them all day.
Reply:Try nordstroms.com, I got a great pair of Kate Spades for $250 that are lovely with the 2" heel. They have a great selection of wedding shoes.
Reply:go barefoot! its comfy and there is a good chance you will not fall! and you will not be taller than your fiance!...

also check out target they have cute sandals!
Reply:I never realized it was appropriate but when I went to David's Bridal for my wedding dress (getting married sept. 1st) they actually sell white flip flops for the bride. I'm not good in heels and both me and my fiance are 5'2'' so I may go that route to prevent myself from towering over him. Hope this helps.
Reply:I had one sister who wore white canvas sneakers with laces that were ribbons to match the ribbon in her flower bouquet (also matched trim in her dress and veil)

My other sister bought white flip-flops, silk flowers, and iredescent beads and went to work on them, and they were CUTE!!!

As for me, I wore ballet slippers, which I slipped out of through the ceremony (no one even knew), and I went barefoot at the reception.

Wear shoes you feel comfortable in. It's going to be a long day, your gown is not going to be that comfortable, but you're going to be on your feet a lot. If people look at your feet (they probably won't), they will understand if you are wearing comfy shoes. Most women married in the last decade have done it.
Reply:There are some awesome kitten heel and low sandals at DSW. However, I do agree that if your dress is long and no one can see them just get some cute flip flops. It will be to your advantage. The only thing you would have to watch for is the length of your dress. If you are the perfect height for it, definitely go low on the shoe. If it's a little long and you don't want to pay for alterations go for the bit higher heel.
Reply:i tnk u should wear heels because heels matches with anything but make sure its black black is the best.
Reply:From experience you wear the most fabulous shoes that you can or want! If you are not a heel person(I AM) then I would go with a small but still fancy heel. Your feet will show when you walk down the aisle and in photographs. Then you bring ballet slippers to change in to or kick the shoes off all together at the reception!
Reply:A good friend of mine who is tall wanted something that would keep her from towering over her groom and would be really comfortable too. She wore white ballet slippers. These are inexpensive and easy to find (even in off white). She got someone to simply stitch satin ribbon to the insides (the ribbon matched the trim on her dress and veil) and tied a pretty bow around her ankle. Of course you couldn't see the shoes as she walked down the aisle, but as she left and pulled up her dress, you could just see them. It was really beautiful. And even better - she was really comfortable throughout her reception. I loved it, and have actually seen this several times now.
Reply:I like the idea of kitten heels, just be sure that whatever shoe you get will be comfortable. I wore a heel that was about 2 inches and it was like a clear plastic shoe with a strap around the back. My hubby is about 6 ft. and I'm 5'9" so I didn't tower over him. But be comfortable and you can always change at the reception.

Best wishes.
