What should I wear.. its casual.. not very dressy? I dont know the person, its my boyfriends relative. He is wearing a polo and khakis and she said thats fine.. so for me would khaki pants, nice shoes, and a nice shirt be fine?
What to wear to a casual wedding reception, not the wedding?
Please do NOT wear the same thing your boyfriend does. That is not casual wear for a woman. Try wearing something like a nice summer dress with a cute cardigan over it. Or just a nice casual, but not too casual dress. I've attached some ideas.

It may not seem fair but casual for a guy is not the same as for you.
That said your boyfriend should be in super nice pressed khakis and an upscale polo.... those from Wally world will not do.

For you a dress would be the best bet ( Do not wear black or white as a predominate color even at the reception.) Really dressing ballerinas or a low heel would be appropriate.
